"Of course it stung - I was quite upset initially," Maria admits. "But I've come to accept it wasn't meant to be. What I gained from this experience was a fresh perspective on our current home, and renewed appreciation for it. I'm planning some interior changes, and we've just installed new flooring. The house feels revitalized."

They're keeping their options open. "If another beautiful property comes along, we'll definitely take a look," Willem says. "And we'll immediately contact Hester again.
