• Schatberg sits on higher ground (rare in this region), reducing flood risk and giving it slightly different character from surrounding flatness

Cons:

• Lichtenvoorde is a small town—no supermarket larger than Albert Heijn, no department stores, limited evening entertainment beyond two or three cafés
• Car dependency; buses run infrequently and cycle distances to services in neighboring towns are 8–15 km
• Limited primary school choice within walking distance; most families rely on schools in Lichtenvoorde center or commute further
• Aging housing stock; much of Schatberg was built 1960s–1980s and renovation costs can be steep
