Willem was great throughout our first home purchase in Amsterdam. What stood out most was how he handled the viewings. He kept building a relationship with the selling agent so that we stayed memorable, and that clearly helped in a competitive process. He joined our viewings, replied fast on WhatsApp, and offered to call the selling agent himself when a listing wasn’t available for viewing. After the bid, he helped with the technical inspection and the valuation, and went through the inspection results with us. He then reviewed the purchase agreement very thoroughly and explained the important points in plain language: the lack of a financing condition, the deposit and bank guarantee, how the cooling-off period works, and the penalty clauses. He gave us his honest opinion on optional points, such as whether to register the agreement, based on his experience with many purchases, instead of just telling us what we wanted to hear. He also answered our many questions quickly, including on the day we signed. One suggestion for the process in general: a clearer overview of all the steps, like a playbook, would be great. We’d like to know at any moment what is still to be done and how each step works, especially around the purchase agreement, when it’s hard to know exactly when everything needs to happen. That being said, we’d recommend Willem & WalterLiving to anyone buying a home in Amsterdam, especially first-time buyers.

This is the best tool outside to have an eatimation of market value of houses. I used it in 2021 and 2026 to buy a house in Groningen.

The promptness and flexibility of his replies really stand out! we would warmly recommend to work with him! What I would improve in the process is adding the option to have one of the agent to come visit the house and check for possible structural risks.
